What Microsoft offers schools and colleges
Microsoft offers education plans to eligible schools, colleges and universities, including a free web-based plan with email, Teams and Office in the browser, and paid plans with desktop apps and stronger security. Microsoft decides eligibility and pricing, and its plans change from time to time.
We check what you qualify for at the start, before you spend anything.
Built around how classes run
We set up Teams so each class has its own space, with channels for subjects, assignments and announcements. Teachers share notes, collect work and hold online classes in one place. Students sign in with their school account on any device.
AI tools, with school data protected
Microsoft offers Copilot Chat to education users, with enterprise data protection when they sign in with their school account. Which features are available depends on your plan and on Microsoft’s rules for students of different ages. We switch on what your licences allow and show teachers how to use it for lesson planning and feedback.
What affects the price
Every quote is built from your site. These are the things that change the number.
- The eligibility check is free
- The number of teachers, students and staff
- Whether you stay on the free plan or need paid plans
- The training sessions you want

Questions we often get
Is Microsoft 365 free for schools?
Microsoft offers a free web-based plan to eligible schools and colleges, and paid plans with desktop apps and more security. We confirm what you qualify for before you commit.
How long does setup take?
Usually four to six weeks, depending on the number of users and how quickly Microsoft confirms eligibility. The eligibility check itself is free.
Can students use it at home?
Yes. Students sign in with their school account on a phone, tablet or computer, and their work saves to OneDrive.
Who manages accounts after setup?
We train your admin to add and remove users each year, or we can manage it for you.
Do teachers get training?
Yes. We run a workshop for teachers and a session for your admin, and leave simple guides for students.
